How can I know the build version of my DEL MP3 Karaoke copy?
You can check this, by clicking the ' ! ' sign in the upper left corner of the player window.

How does the DEL MP3 Karaoke software works ?
DEL MP3 Karaoke uses a timer to sychronize the lyrics over the music. That means that the synchro you generate is the product of what you hear and feel, not from hard to control musical event on a track used as the base for synchonization.

Furthermore, since the 2.0 build version, you can play and import the lyrics and the synchronization file (kok) in our editor to put your touch to your karaoke song.

What file format DEL MP3 Karaoke can play?
DEL MP3 Karaoke software uses the windows media player resources, so MP3, MIDI, KAR and so on, can be played in it.

Is it possible to strip the lyrics off a MP3 file?
We've found some tools, plugins for software like CoolEdit, but the results are poor. Here's an explanation of how this can be accomplished
Recording studios have the original tracks which do not contain the recording of the voice, the voice track is mixed with the music tracks and you cannot undo the process. To separate tracks it would be necessary to use an audio format which make it possible to have several tracks, which currently does not exist. However, the voice being generally recorded into mono and stereophony being used for the music, some software make it possible to remove the "mono" sounds of a piece, and can thus obtain an instrumental version from a sung version. There is a but; current songs add stereo effects to the voice, and that does not go perfectly well, but it is always better than nothing. You could go to http://www.analogx.com/contents/download/audio/vremover.htm to get one of there plugins.

The MIDI format can be a good suggestion too, if your searching for instrumental tracks. You can visit websites dedicated to the matter. We've got a few links to help you start your search in our links section.

I would like to « print » the lyrics of my karaoke, is it possible?

Select all words with your cursor
Once the text is selected, right click the selection.

May I use the DEL MP3 KARAOKE software under Mac OS X?
The only way possible to use DEL MP3 Karaoke with a Mac, is to install a software such as Virtual PC. With Virtual PC for Mac, you can run PC programs on your Mac.
We were not able to test it on a Mac, because we haven’t got one. But some Mac users have reported that it worked well.

When I try to run DMK, from a program shortcut on the desktop or in the star menu, I get an error message which says "You do not have an appropriate license to use this functionality". Does this mean that I have to buy the program before I can try it?
Absolutely not. DMK is distributed as shareware, and you are encouraged to try it fully before registering. This error message is not coming from DMK directly. It seems that this error is being produced by Sheridan Software’s Tabbed Dialog control, a control (.ocx) used by DMK and other programs. Sheridan has acknowledged that at least some versions of the control will produce the error in question, and while it is still unclear if a true "fix" exists, the following procedure should take care of the problem for now: To correct this problem you need to uninstall DEL MP3 Karaoke (via the Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel) and then go to your Windows\System directory with windows explorer and look for the file Tabctl32.ocx. When you find it, rename it and/or move in to a different location (do not delete it, just in case). Then reinstall DMK. This will place the original version of the tab control that shipped with DMK in the System directory, and should register it and solve the problem. Meanwhile, if necessary, you can always reverse the procedure with the Tabctl32.ocx file renaming or moving it back to Windows\System.

I'm having a problem when recording with my voice signing with a microphone over the music. When I play back the recording I made with the DMK recording module, I don't hear anything.
For the absence of sound after the recording, surely you didn't select the right recording channel. You must select the recording channel in your Windows Record Control panel.

In the DMK record module you'll find the to access the Windows Record Control Panel.

Then select " Wave " to record an .mp3 or .mid OR " Recordings, Mix or What U Hear... (Title tags for the controls could change depending upon your language and the sound card driver you have installed) " to record what's coming out of your speakers.

Note: If you don't see the " Wave " channel, in the Windows Record Control panel you must go to OPTIONS, then select PROPERTIES. In that panel you'll select RECORDING and in the list check WAVE. You could also select MIDI and then have the option to record directly a .mid file. Click OK and you have the selected channel present in the Windows Record Control panel.

Where can I download songs, I am not very good using internet?
Our website is a commercial one, and it’s forbidden to download songs without paying copyright. It’s impossible for us to give MP3 files, Midi or any other format of music files. On the other hand, here are some small advices to help you in your queries. Visit our Link page at http://www.delmp3karaoke.com/links_en.html to find some addresses where you can download music files. You can also create your own karaoke using the DMK editor. To learn how to create a .kok, consult our user manual at http://www.delmp3karaoke.com/manu_en.html To find instrumental MP3 (without the signing voice), you can use a software such as Kazaa (www.kazaa.com) Or WinMX (www.winmx.com) and search by adding "instrumental" at the end of the search query.

How the .kok file works?

An example of question that a user could ask us would be:

I use your software and having synchronized the words with the music, I am able to display my karaoke. On the other hand, I save my work and after that, close the DMK software. If I try to find my creation via Windows explorer and if I double-click on the file, which is identified by a DMK icon to play it as a karaoke in DMK, I am unable to make it play. How or what I’m I not doing correctly.

When a .kok file is created by means of the editor, this file is saved in the directory specified in the configuration of the program and carries the same name as the music file used with a .kok extension Ex: synchronization with the music file MrsRobinson.mp3 the file kok is going to be saved as MrsRobinson.kok
When you want to play an MP3 or MIDI music file with DEL MP3 Karaoke, the program automatically goes to check in the directory specified in the configuration and in the current directory of the music file.
If one .kok file exists corresponding to the music file (MrsRobinson.mp3 - > MrsRobinson.kok), DMK is going to use this file of synchronization for displaying the words (karaoke). In fact, the .kok file is not a music file, but a complement file containing the words and the synchronization which are associated to a song.
When the synchronization is done and saved, return to the DMK player and play the music file (MP3 or MIDI) used during the synchronization. The words should display automatically. Note: for a MIDI file, it’s also possible to export the synchronization inside the MIDI file rather than to create a .kok file.

For more information about the editor), consult our manual at http://www.delmp3karaoke.com/manu_fr.html.

How to make a music file play Karaoke (Display the words on the screen) with DMK ?

For a music file to produce a Karaoke, this one has to have the lyrics synchronized with the song.
You have two choices.

  1. You find them already synchronized on internet and you download them.
  2. Or you make them yourself using DMK’s editor. This means, taking a music file and making the synchronization of the words over the song yourself.
